Brasure Law Firm, PLLC, was established nearly a decade ago, with one primary objective in mind: to provide exceptional legal services to clients throughout the state of Texas. Meet the Founder of Brasure Law Firm, PLLC

Brasure Law Firm, PLLC was established by Attorney Chris R. Brasure in 2006. His legal accomplishments are diverse and numerous. He is a fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation, the director of the Hidalgo County Bar Association – a position held since 2014. He also served as a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Pattern Jury Charge Committee, a position held since 2010. Currently, Chris is an active member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

Attorney Chris R. Brasure was a delegate in the American Bar Association House of Delegates from 2012 to 2014. Attorney Brasure has also published and presented many different legal papers on topics ranging from grand jury proceedings and fiduciary and professional liability in the state of Texas, to preservation of error, amongst other topics.

He was nominated for the 2007 Texas Trial College by District Court Judge Rose Reyna.

Attorney Chris R. Brasure holds a BA in political science and speech communication from Baylor University. He went on to obtain his law degree from Baylor University Law School.

Shortly after graduating from law school, he started his legal career when he began working for a Dallas law firm as a litigation associate, dealing in a number of different areas, including insurance bad faith cases, product liability cases, and general negligence cases.

In early 2005, he transitioned to the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s office as an assistant district attorney. He was ultimately promoted to the position of felony prosecutor after just seven months. During his time with the District Attorney’s office, Attorney Brasure tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases, including first-degree felonies (the most serious class of felonies.)

This time in a prosecutor’s role provided Attorney Chris R. Brasure with essential experience that he leverages and utilizes in his practice today. He has acquired a deep understanding and important insights into the opposition’s role and strategies. This unique insight has proven extremely useful in the courtroom and in out-of-court dealings as well.

Throughout his career, Attorney Chris R. Brasure has tried dozens of jury trials. He has defended a broad array of criminal cases, including murder cases, drug cases, robbery cases and sexual assault cases, amongst others. One notable criminal trial involved a 19-count aggravated sexual assault case. Attorney Chris R. Brasure was successful in getting 13 of the counts dismissed by the District Attorney, while three counts were dismissed by directed verdict. On the remaining three counts, the defendant was acquitted by the jury.

In a notable state civil trial in the 430th District Court, Attorney Brasure was successful in securing a $846,863.32 verdict for claims involving fiduciary misconduct and breach of contract. He has successfully obtained pre-indictment relief for clients including grand jury no-bill and pre-indictment rejections by the District Attorney’s office. He has also secured numerous pre-trial dismissals for clients in both misdemeanors and felony cases.

Today, Attorney Chris R. Brasure deals primarily in personal injury law cases, including those involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injury cases and personal injury cases involving life-altering catastrophic injuries. Chris received ranking from “Texas Lawyer” as having one of the Top Texas Verdicts in both 2014 and 2016. His diverse legal background has made him well-prepared to tackle the issues that arise in these types of cases, providing him with strategies and insights that lead to an increased chance of seeing a positive outcome.
